Laura Kathleen (Gruber) Bowers, 49, passed away Wednesday, June 13 in Franklin. She was born October 10, 1962 to Lee Christopher Gruber and Marjorie Jeanette (Limburg) Rook at Fort Belvoir Army Hospital, VA.
Laura graduated from Warren Central High School, Indianapolis.
She married Steven Craig Bowers on September 8, 1990 in Mechanicsburg, PA. They moved to Franklin in 1992. They have one daughter, Carly Marie. In addition to her husband and daughter, she is survived by her parents, her step-father David Rook, step-sisters Beth Ann Rook of Virginia; Patricia D. Rose and Rebecca Lynn MacKenzie, both of South Carolina and niece Amber Lee Back of Lebanon. She was predeceased by her sister, Patricia Gruber Stuart,
Laura spent most of her adult life in food service and was on the initial crew that opened the Franklin Applebee’s.
She was a member of the Franklin American Legion Auxiliary Unit 205 and active in the First Presbyterian Church of Franklin.
Elder Greg Cantwell will conduct a memorial service at 7:00 PM at the church located at 100 Madison Avenue. The family will receive callers from 5:00 PM until time of service.
